Set to miss season after surgery
Grealish (foot) confirmed he has undergone successful surgery and won't play again in the 2025/26 campaign, saying "didn't want the season to end like this" on an Instagram post.
Analysis: Grealish ultimately required surgery after suffering a stress fracture in his left foot in January. His absence for the remaining games of the season is a significant blow to an Everton side that had greatly benefited from his production on the left wing when he was available. The attacker scored two goals and six assists over 20 league appearances (18 starts) before suffering the injury. Both Harrison Armstrong and Dwight McNeil may see their playing time increased in Grealish's absence.
Could miss rest of season
Grealish (foot) will probably need a surgery to treat his injury and that would rule him out for the season, coach David Moyes said in the press conference. "We believe Jack is probably going to need surgery. That's still not absolutely confirmed, but it probably rules him out for the rest of the season."
Analysis: Grealish suffered a stress fracture in his foot and will likely need to undergo surgery to treat the issue, which would probably rule him out for the rest of the season. This is not confirmed yet, but further examinations will assess the necessity, and that would be a major blow for the Toffees since he was an undisputed starter in the frontline this season after joining the club on loan in the summer. If he were to be ruled out for months, Dwight McNeil is expected to see increased playing time in the attacking midfield.
