Whips in six crosses

Johnson registered one shot (zero on goal), six crosses (two accurate) and four corners in Sunday's 0-0 draw against Leeds United. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 54th minute.

Analysis: Johnson was back in the starting XI after getting some rest from the bench in FA Cup play, notching 80 minutes of play. He would lead the team and match in crosses in his time on the field, recording six. He is now up to 51 between his time at Palace and Tottenham this season.

Assists in loss

Johnson assisted once to go with three crosses (one accurate) and one corner in Sunday's 2-1 loss against Manchester United.

Analysis: Johnson provided one assist for his new club during Sunday's loss, but it wasn't enough to earn a point against a red-hot Manchester United. Johnson is a tricky winger with solid end product, and he should shine in a large role with Palace, even against top opponents. Johnson also took a corner Sunday, a nice sign for a potentially safer floor.

Season high three shots

Johnson generated three shots (two on goal) and two crosses (zero accurate) in Wednesday's 0-0 draw versus Aston Villa. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 67th minute.

Analysis: Johnson has started back-to-back matches since joining Palace and showed increased involvement, attempting a season-high three shots in this outing and five across the two starts. He also delivered four total crosses, two per game, and made one tackle in each appearance. Even so, Palace's attacking struggles continued, with the side managing just one goal in its last four matches.

Bright debut with Palace

Johnson recorded two shots (one on goal), two crosses (zero accurate) and two chances created in Sunday's 2-0 loss against Newcastle United. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 33rd minute.

Analysis: Johnson made his Palace debut from the start and was involved early, helping create a sequence that ended with Will Hughes' shot deflecting wide. Just before halftime, he drove forward and laid the ball back for Jean-Philippe Mateta, whose first time effort went narrowly wide, setting a new season high with two chances created in the Premier League. He then tested Nick Pope with a low shot around the hour mark before adding a second effort to end a strong first shift with his new club.

Transfers to Crystal Palace

Johnson has completed a transfer to Crystal Palace from Tottenham, according to his former club.

Analysis: Johnson has ended his time with Tottenham and is on the move as the winter transfer window opens, staying in the Premier League and joining Crystal Palace. He has dropped out of a role this season after 14 goal contributions and 24 starts last campaign, including the goal that secured the club's first trophy, with only six starts in 16 appearances this season to go along with two goals. He is likely to be the hopeful replacement for Eberechi Eze after he departed for Arsenal to begin the season, potentially sending Yeremy Pino or Ismaila Sarr to the bench.

Option Sunday

Johnson (undisclosed) is on the bench for Sunday's match against Nottingham Forest.

Analysis: Johnson has passed his testing and is with the team Sunday, with the forward earning a spot on the bench. He has only started in six of his 13 appearances this season and is likely to remain in a rotational role, notching two goals but still in search of his first assist.

Option to face Forest

Johnson (undisclosed) is an option for Sunday's match against Nottingham Forest, according to manager Thomas Frank. "I expect him to be available for Forest, he trained today."

Analysis: Johnson was dealing with a minor injury the past week but is back as an option after a game missed, fit to face Nottingham. He started in his last appearance but will probably return to a bench spot after the injury, only starting in six of his 13 appearances this campaign. He will need to ramp up his performances soon to catch last season's performance, with only two goals compared to the 11 goals and three assists he earned last campaign.

Missing to face Slavia

Johnson (undisclosed) is out for Tuesday's match against Slavia Prague.

Analysis: Johnson is not with the team after he was a late call for Tuesday, with the forward failing his testing and on the sidelines. It does appear the injury is minor, and a return shouldn't be far, likely trying to feature again when they face Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Dec 8, 2025

Late call for Tuesday

Johnson is questionable for Tuesday's match against Slavia Prague, according to manager Thomas Frank. "Brennan is touch and go."

Analysis: Johnson will need to pass some testing to play Tuesday, as the forward is now touch-and-go due to an undisclosed injury. This is something to watch for the club, one of their first options for depth in the attack. That said, even if he is fit, he will likely only earn a spot on the bench.

Dec 7, 2025

Back from suspension

Johnson is no longer suspended and is an option moving forward for the club.

Analysis: Johnson has served his suspension due to the straight red card he received against Copenhagen and is set to return in the next Champions League contest against Slavia Prague on Tuesday. The forward has been a bench option mainly recently, therefore his return won't impact the starting XI of the Spurs.

Nov 4, 2025

Sent off against Copenhagen

Johnson was sent off after scoring during Tuesday's clash with Copenhagen.

Analysis: Johnson found the back of the net in the first half Tuesday, and was shown a red card in the second half. The winger will now be suspended for a Nov. 26 clash with PSG. Due to the straight red card for violent conduct, UEFA could decide to add to the suspension.

Quiet in UCL start

Johnson generated one shot (zero on goal) in Tuesday's 2-2 draw versus Glimt.

Analysis: Johnson started Tuesday's match, his first Premier League or Champions League start since Aug. 30. He did not exactly make the most of his opportunity as he only recorded one off-target shot and did not create a chance or record a cross. It's been a tough start to the season for him as he is searching for a role following the arrivals of Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons. At the moment, that role appears to be mainly as a substitute and he has not made the most of that to this point.

Scores in season opener

Johnson scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal), six crosses (one accurate) and two chances created in Saturday's 3-0 win over Burnley.

Analysis: Johnson clinched the match for Spurs in the 66th minute with a goal assisted by Pape Sarr. After playing on the right wing nearly all of last season, he started Saturday's match on the left to make room for new signing Mohammed Kudus. Both players made a great impact on their respective sides of the field, so it seems likely Johnson will continue to play on the left as long as Kudus is on the pitch.
