Eligible again
Anderson has served his Europa League suspension and may reappear in the second leg versus Porto.
Analysis: Anderson will most likely bounce back into the starting lineup for both Premier League and European matches in the final stages of the season, leading one between Ryan Yates and Nicolas Dominguez to a bench spot. Anderson is an essential member of Forest's midfield given his all-around value and set-piece deliveries. However, he has failed to score or assist in his last four games played.
Suspended in Europa League
Anderson is ruled out of Thursday's Europa League first leg against FC Porto by UEFA due to suspension.
Analysis: Anderson is one of Nottingham Forest's most important midfield pieces and their go-to guy on set pieces, so his absence is a major hit heading into the first leg of the Europa League. Nicolas Dominguez is expected to pick up more minutes in his spot, but replacing Anderson's presence in the middle and his dead-ball quality in a high-pressure European matchup will not be easy against the Dragaos. Forest will likely look to keep this one tight in the first leg and then hope to get him back at full strength for the return leg next week.
Rockets shot for goal
Anderson scored one goal to go with three shots (one on goal), two crosses (one accurate) and one corner in Wednesday's 2-2 draw against Manchester City.
Analysis: Anderson saw a spark of brilliance Wednesday after a few whispers of the midfielder looking to be a bit fatigued, firing a shot from outside the box that would find the bottom corner. This is his first goal in quite some time, with his last being Nov. 9 despite having yet to miss a match in league action. He continues to be the workhorse in the midfield, even though he only has four league goal contributions all season, typically seeing decent production as he always finds himself around the ball.
Five crosses in away defeat
Anderson had one shot (zero on goal), five crosses (two accurate) and one chance created in Sunday's 2-1 loss versus Brighton. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 30th minute.
Analysis: Anderson attempted five crosses as his side fell to a 2-1 defeat against Brighton. He has attempted five crosses or more in each of his last 10 starts in all competitions. He completed two crosses for the fourth time in the last seven games. He has created at least one chance in each of the last seven games.
Four shots in loss
Anderson registered four shots (zero on goal), six crosses (two accurate) and three corners in Sunday's 1-0 loss against Liverpool.
Analysis: Anderson took four shots during Sunday's loss, but none of them tested the Liverpool goal. He had decent attacking volume in general, but was wasteful with all of it throughout the match. The volume is nice for Anderson's floor moving forward, but unless he can be more efficient he's hard to trust.
Seven shots in draw
Anderson had seven shots (two on goal), five crosses (one accurate) and two chances created in Wednesday's 0-0 draw versus Wolverhampton.
Analysis: Anderson was at the heart of Forest's pressure, constantly recycling possession and drifting into the right half space to whip balls into the box. His sharpest moment came on a delicate lofted cross that Morgan Gibbs-White met from point-blank range, only to steer it wide. He finished with a season high seven shots (two on target), two chances created, five tackles and two clearances, driving the press that kept Wolves on their heels, but he is now without a goal contribution in six games despite 10 shots and eight chances created in that span. He will aim to break that drought against Liverpool next Sunday.
Well rounded in draw
Anderson took an off target shot, crossed eight times (two accurate), created two chances and made two interceptions and four tackles (winning three) during Sunday's 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.
Analysis: Anderson was held off the scoresheet, but was active on both sides of the ball leading Forest in crosses, interceptions and tackles during the draw. The midfielder hasn't had a goal involvement since January 6th, but has combined for two shots, eight tackles and a whopping 25 crosses due in part to a role on corner kicks over his last three league starts.
Active as playmaking threat
Anderson generated one shot (zero on goal), seven crosses (one accurate) and five corners in Sunday's 2-0 victory versus Brentford.
Analysis: Anderson was active on both ends of the pitch, thriving as a playmaker and set-piece specialist while also working hard on defense. Anderson is a key piece in midfield for Nottingham Forest, but his fantasy upside is a bit limited due to his lack of goal involvements, meaning he earns most of his upside in peripheral categories.
Plenty of crossing but no assist
Anderson generated 10 crosses (three accurate) and four corners in Saturday's 0-0 draw versus Arsenal.
Analysis: Anderson had volume but not necessarily efficiency, as only three of his crosses were accurate and he was unable to assist a teammate to give Forest a key victory. If he wants to get an assist Thursday in UEL action against SC Braga, he'll need to be more efficient with his crossing. Braga has only conceded five goals in six UEL matches during the group stage.
Bags assist
Anderson assisted once to go with eight crosses (one accurate) and two corners in Tuesday's 2-1 win over West Ham United.
Analysis: Anderson earned an assist just 10 minutes after halftime Tuesday, finding Nicolas Dominguez in the 55th minute for the club's first goal of the match. This marks his first goal contribution in some time, as his last came in early November, also in the form of an assist. He is up to three goal contributions this season in 21 appearances besting his total from last campaign.
Whips in seven crosses
Anderson generated seven crosses (one accurate) and one corner in Saturday's 2-1 defeat against Manchester City. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 43rd minute.
Analysis: Anderson would come up with a decent match despite the loss Saturday, as he would help with one chance created and seven crosses in the attack, leading his team in crosses. However, he remains without a goal contribution in his past seven games, with two in 18 appearances (18 starts) this season.
Six chances created in defeat
Anderson recorded one shot (zero on goal), 13 crosses (six accurate) and eight corners in Sunday's 2-0 defeat against Brighton.
Analysis: Anderson started as one of the two deeper midfielders against Brighton on Sunday and was a central figure in Forest's improvement after halftime. He helped them push higher up the pitch, recycling possession and winning free kicks that allowed the hosts to sustain pressure. The midfielder delivered a season high of six chances created to go with eight corners but they couldn't lead to a goal. Anderson still has provided one assist in his 13 Premier League appearances for a total of 24 chances created, an unfortunate ratio highlighting the lack of efficiency of Forest in the final third.
Scores late penalty
Anderson scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) and three crosses (one accurate) in Sunday's 3-1 victory over Leeds United.
Analysis: Anderson converted from the spot in stoppage time to make it 3-1 after Leeds United had thrown bodies forward. He had been active in midfield phases before that and stayed on to finish the match. Anderson contributed defensively with three tackles, one interception and one clearance, but his first goal of the season from a penalty was the main highlight of his game on Sunday.
Should be option
Anderson is an option for Sunday's match against Leeds United after missing their midweek UEL match against Sturm Graz, according to Sarah Clapson of the Nottingham Post.
Analysis: Anderson was not with the team for their midweek European match due to a knock, but is back in the fold for the club, with the midfielder fit after the rest. He is likely to return to his starting role immediately if fit enough to start, with his absence last outing his first missed start all campaign. He will look to add to his goal contribution tally soon, with one this season after earning eight all of last season.
Four shots in loss
Anderson had four shots (one on goal), two crosses (zero accurate) and one chance created in Saturday's 1-0 defeat versus Sunderland. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 82nd minute.
Analysis: Anderson took four shots, which was the most of any game that he has attempted this season. He only put his second shot on target of the season. In the game, he attempted four tackles but only managed to win one.
Five crosses in away draw
Anderson registered five crosses (one accurate) and three corners in Sunday's 1-1 draw versus Crystal Palace.
Analysis: Anderson continued his streak of taking all set pieces for Nottingham Forest. He took seven corners across the two games and also created a chance, but didn't have an attacking return. He also attempted three tackles, made a clearance but did concede two fouls.
Assists in season opener
Anderson assisted once to go with three shots (one on goal), six crosses (zero accurate) and four corners in Sunday's 3-1 victory over Brentford.
Analysis: Anderson took six corners and assisted Chris Wood for his team's third goal in the season opener against Brentford. The opening goal for Chris Wood also came as a result of an Anderson corner but due to the deflections off the Brentford defenders was not awarded as an assist. He took three shots, which he only did four times in the league.
