Easing into play
Bobb is easing into play after only featuring for seven minutes off the bench last outing, according to manager Marco Silva, per Jack Kelly of Fullhamish. "He needs more time. We are working with him behind the scenes. He came from a hamstring injury, so we have to be careful with him. Sooner or later, he's going to be ready."
Analysis: Bobb is working back from a hamstring injury and just featured for the first time in around two months, getting seven minutes from the bench. However, he is still being eased into work, with the forward to be limited for the time being. However, a full return will be a boost to the club once he is fully fit and works towards starting time, set to play a decent role after his transfer from City.
Available against Everton
Bobb (hamstring) is an option for Saturday's clash against Everton, coach Marco Silva said in the press conference, according to Jack Kelly from Fulhamish. "All the other players are available."
Analysis: Bobb has been managing hamstring issues dating back to his time at Manchester City, but the winger appears to be an option right away for his new club after not being listed on the injury report during coach Marco Silva's press conference. This is encouraging news for the Fulham FC, as Bobb could provide an immediate spark and push for a meaningful role as he settles in and competes for minutes in the upcoming fixtures.
Signs with Fulham
Bobb signed a five-and-a-half-year deal with Fulham, joining from Manchester City, his new club announced. "I'm thrilled to welcome Oscar Bobb to Fulham! He is an exciting young player who is eager to come and play for the Club, as we aim to continue the team's positive momentum through the second half of the season and plan for a promising future," said Sporting Director Tony Khan.
Analysis: Bobb is a Norway winger who primarily plays on the right and can operate across the frontline, having come through the Valerenga youth setup before joining Manchester City at 16. He made 26 appearances during the 2023/24 season as City won the Premier League and the Club World Cup, scoring a stoppage-time winner against Newcastle United that was named Premier League Goal of the Month. After suffering a broken leg early the following season, he returned in April and began the current campaign as City's first-choice right winger before moving to Fulham. He has 16 appearances and two goals for Norway and will feature at this summer's World Cup after helping them qualify for the first time in nearly 30 years. Bobb has been dealing with a hamstring injury and it remains to be seen at what stage of his recovery he is and when he will be able to play for his new club.
Still not training
Bobb (hamstring) is still injured and hasn't been training since mid-December, coach Pep Guardiola said in the press conference. "Still injured. He's not trained with us since the game against Brentford."
Analysis: Bobb hasn't been training with the team since mid December and remains out for the time being due to a hamstring injury. Bobb's absence doesn't impact the starting XI of Manchester City since he has mainly been a bench option this season, and the recent addition of Antoine Semenyo will likely keep his minutes limited for the remainder of the season.
Hopeful of minor strain
Bobb (hamstring) could be back available soon, coach Pep Guardiola said in the press conference. "We have five days, then for Nottingham [Forest] and Sunderland, maybe a few of them [Bobb, Stones, Rodri] start to be back."
Analysis: Bobb suffered a muscular injury to his hamstring against Brentford on Wednesday that shouldn't keep him on the sidelines for a long time since coach Pep Guardiola suggested he could return next week for the clash against Nottingham Forest or the following one against Sunderland on Jan. 1st. That said, Bobb is holding a rotational role for City since several months and his return will not impact the starting XI.
Suffers hamstring injury
Bobb suffered a hamstring injury in Wednesday's 2-0 victory against Brentford in the Carabao Cup and is likely ruled out for the rest of the year, coach Pep Guardiola confirmed in a press conference. "After 10/15 minutes he complained about a muscular injury. Apparently it's a muscular injury in the hamstring. Hopefully he will come back soon."
Analysis: Bobb suffered a muscular injury to his hamstring in Wednesday's clash against the Bees in the Carabao Cup and will likely be sidelined until 2026 as he recovers from the setback. The forward will be assessed in the coming days to determine the exact extent of his injury, but his absence will have no impact on the starting XI of the Citizens since he has mainly been a bench option this campaign.
Injured in EFL Cup
Bobb was forced off with an apparent injury during the first half of Wednesday's EFL Cup clash with Brentford.
Analysis: Bobb picked up an apparent injury and was forced off during Wednesday's clash. Bobb hasn't played a big part in the first team so far this season and this injury isn't going to help him earn Premier League minutes. His first chance to return will be on short rest for a Saturday clash with West Ham.
Alternating in starting role
Bobb has started in just one of Manchester City's last six matches between the Premier League and the Champions League since the beginning of September.
Analysis: Bobb started the first three games of the season for the Citizens and notched an assist in the 4-0 win over Wolverhampton, but he hasn't been able to deliver a big impact since then. The winger should continue to see steady minutes, but he's far from being a lockdown starter, thus limiting his upside considerably.
