Left out of squad
Hartman (Coach's decision) was left out of the squad for Saturday's clash against Bournemouth, coach Scott Parker confirmed to the media, according to Matt Scrafton from the Burnley Express. "I'm just picking a squad for today's game that I see best. Someone has to miss out and today unfortunately that's Q."
Analysis: Hartman is surprisingly left out of the squad for Saturday's clash against the Cherries. The left-back is missing due to a coach's decision, which is quite surprising given that he has started almost all games this season for the Clarets, remaining an unused substitute only once against Newcastle. Lucas Pires is receiving the starting role against Bournemouth while Hartman is out.
Two assists in win
Hartman assisted twice to go with one shot (zero on goal), five crosses (zero accurate) and three corners in Sunday's 3-2 win over Wolverhampton.
Analysis: Hartman's two first-half assists gave Burnley the platform from which they would earn three points in a 3-2 victory at Wolverhampton. After not recording a goal contribution across his first five career Premier League appearances (five starts), the full-back has now supplied four assists across his last four staring appearances. Hartman has played every minute of Burnley's first nine league fixtures.
Delivers assist
Hartman assisted once to go with four crosses (three accurate) and two corners in Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa.
Analysis: After no goal contributions through the first five matches, Hartman delivered an assist for a second straight outing and is up to two on the season. This also marked the second time in seven outings that he accounted for more than one chance created, and it was his third game in that span with more than 20 completed passes.
First goal contribution of season
Hartman assisted once to go with one shot (one on goal) and one chance created in Saturday's 5-1 defeat against Manchester City. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 27th minute.
Analysis: Hartman was part of the defense that allowed five goals Saturday, a rough match despite recording one interception, two tackles and three clearances. However, he would record an assist, finding Jaidon Anthony in the 38th minute. This marks his first goal contribution of the season, coming after six appearances.
Logs 11 crosses, four accurate
Hartman had one shot (one on goal), 11 crosses (four accurate) and one corner in Saturday's 1-1 draw versus Nottingham Forest.
Analysis: For the first time this Premier League season, Hartman logged double-digit crosses. Impressively, more than 33.3 percent of them were accurate. In doing so, Hartman recorded four accurate crosses, which multiplied his total number in the category by five, from one to five.
Nine clearances, six interceptions
Hartman logged nine clearances, six interceptions and two tackles (two won) during Burnley's 1-0 loss Sunday against Liverpool.
Analysis: For the Liverpool-Burnley game, two of Burnley's players logged more than eight clearances, Maxime Esteve and Hartman. But unlike his French teammate, the Dutch left-back recorded several interceptions. For the statistic, Hartman also logged Burnley's team-best.
Seven crosses in opening loss
Hartman recorded seven crosses (zero accurate) and four corners in Saturday's 3-0 defeat versus Tottenham Hotspur.
Analysis: Hartman had a productive start to the season as he led his side in both crosses (seven) and corners (four). If Saturday is any indication, Hartman appears to be the main corner kick taker for Burnley which increases his value significantly. That creative threat, along with his defensive contributions, makes him a valuable asset moving forward in this Premier League campaign.
