This is his seventh goal of the season, and he has scored two in the last three matches. He took five shots in the game, his most in any game this season. This was also the second time he has put two or more shots on target this year.

Scores one goal

Anthony scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal), three crosses (one accurate) and one corner in Wednesday's 3-2 win over Crystal Palace.

Analysis: Anthony scored with a clever near-post finish off a pass from Lesley Ugochukwu in the first half of Wednesday's match against Crystal Palace, adding two key passes, three crosses and two tackles. The forward appears to have reclaimed a starting role, having started each of the last six matches across all competitions while scoring two goals during that span.

Held quiet

Anthony recorded one shot (zero on goal), five crosses (zero accurate) and one corner in Monday's 3-0 loss to Sunderland. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 70th minute.

Analysis: Anthony took just a single shot during Monday's loss, and it wasn't particularly dangerous. This performance was awful, from Anthony, and Burnley as a whole. It simply wasn't a top-flight level showing. At the end of the day Anthony and Burnley have struggled to compete at the highest level despite a hot start to life in their promotion campaign.

Goal streak ends

Anthony generated three shots (zero on goal) and one chance created in Saturday's 1-1 draw versus Liverpool.

Analysis: Anthony's two-game goal streak came to an end during Saturday's trip to Anfield, as he was held without a shot on target. A draw away at Anfield is a nice result for the team, but Anthony was stymied for the most part. He's still been solid, though his two goals in the last three matches are his first goal contributions since September.

Amazing goal off the bench

Anthony scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal), two crosses (zero accurate) and one corner in Wednesday's 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

Analysis: The forward provided an awesome moment for fans by perfectly slotting a shot past Man United's Senne Lammens to give Burnley a point from the encounter. Anthony has a good chance to add more goals to his tally Saturday against Millwall in the F.A. Cup, as the team has allowed 33 goals in 26 Championship games.

Wins penalty in defeat

Anthony had two crosses (zero accurate) and two corners in Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Brentford.

Analysis: Anthony came from the bench with 15 minutes to go and won the penalty, which saw Burnley draw level with 10 minutes to go. This was the first game in the Premier League this season that he hasn't started, and has scored four goals this season. This is the seventh game that he has failed to return a goal or assist.

Scoreless in last four matches

Anthony has gone four matches without a goal, tallying one shot on target, one chance created and six crosses in that span.

Analysis: Anthony continues to be a regular starter in Burnley's attacking line, but the winger hasn't been very productive from the left flank. He opened the season with four goals across his first six starts, but his production has declined considerably in recent weeks. His starting role isn't at risk, but his lack of production is certainly concerning for fantasy managers who had gotten used to trust in him week in and week out.

Makes starting XI

Anthony (quadriceps) is in the starting XI for Saturday's clash against Leeds United.

Analysis: Anthony has shaken off his quad issue and is back in the starting XI for Saturday's clash against Leeds United. He avoided any injury designation heading into the weekend and looks ready to contribute. The winger got off to a red-hot start this season with four goals and one assist in his first seven matches.

Not mentioned

Anthony (quadriceps) wasn't mentioned among the injured players for Saturday's clash with Leeds by manager Scott Parker.

Analysis: Anthony suffered a blow to his quad prior to the international break, but avoided any sort of injury tag ahead of Saturday's clash. There's no guarantee he's fully fit to go, but a knock two weeks ago isn't something that should hamper Anthony here. Anthony got off to a red-hot start to the season with four goals and one assist in the first seven matches.

Suffers knock in quadriceps

Anthony was forced off in the 59th minute of Sunday's 2-1 loss against Aston Villa due to a knock in his quadriceps, coach Scott Parker confirmed in a press conference, according to Burnley Express. "He got a big hit on his quad and he was limping around. Again, you can only leave it so long before then and you may have to make a change and I decided that I didn't want him to carry that going into the final part of the game."

Analysis: Anthony couldn't finish Sunday's game against the Villains due to a knock to his quadriceps that left him limping around the one-hour mark. Coach Scott Parker didn't want to take any risks with his forward given how brilliant he has started the season with the Clarets. Anthony will hope to recover during the international break to be back available against Leeds United and add to his tally of five goal contributions in seven Premier League games so far this campaign.

Scores lone goal for Burnley

Anthony scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal), three crosses (one accurate) and two corners in Saturday's 5-1 defeat against Manchester City. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 63rd minute.

Analysis: Anthony found the net for Burnley's only goal of the contest Saturday, finding the back of the net in the 38th minute before their eventual downfall. This does mark his second straight game with a goal, recording one against Nottingham Forest last time out. He now has four goals in six appearances this campaign.

Three shots on target, one goal

Anthony scored one goal to go with three shots (three on goal), eight crosses (one accurate) and three corners in Saturday's 1-1 draw versus Nottingham Forest.

Analysis: Usually, players who log several shots on target do not get perfect accuracy, but that was not the case for Anthony. Impressively, this season has him with 11 shots but six of them on target. They have helped Anthony score three goals in five appearances. While the wide midfielder established scoring prowess in the Championship with eight goals last season, the fact that he is demonstrating improved goal-scoring is a welcome surprise, though it does welcome the question or whether or not such form can be sustainable.

Mixed performance in loss

Anthony scored one goal and conceded one penalty in 90 minutes played against Manchester United on Saturday.

Analysis: Anthony had a hectic shift against Manchester United on Saturday. In 90 minutes played, the right winger scored one goal from his only shot, successfully completed his only dribble, but also conceded the penalty that ended up winning the game for United. Anthony is now up to two goals and one assist this EPL season, and has been one of Burnley's best players this season. He will look to maintain his fine form against Liverpool on September 14.

Aug 25, 2025

First Premier League goal

Anthony scored one goal and assisted once from two shots and one chance created in Saturday's 2-0 win versus Sunderland.

Analysis: Anthony assisted the first Burnley goal before putting his name on the scoresheet late in the second half Saturday as Burnley dispatched of Sunderland in a 2-0 victory. In addition to his goal contributions, the attacker tracked back to add three tackles (two won) and one interception to the team's clean sheet effort across his 90 minutes of play. Aug 18, 2025

Four shots in opener

Anthony had four shots (one on goal), one cross (one accurate) and two chances created in Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Analysis: Anthony was easily the most productive Burnley attacker in Saturday's opener as he led the team with four shots, putting one on goal. He figures to be a key part of Burnley's attack this season after recording 15 goal contributions in the Championship last season. He was replaced by Marcus Edwards in the 85th minute of the opening loss.
