In training, available Sunday
Bogarde (undisclosed) has been training and will be available for Sunday's game against Leeds United, manager Unai Emery told media during Friday's pre-match press conference. "And other players, tomorrow we'll train, the last training session, normally, it could be everyone available."
Analysis: Bogarde left the Netherlands U21 camp due to an undisclosed injury, but he's back in training and will be an option for this contest. His fantasy value isn't very high, though, as he's a backup option on defense that rarely contributes with meaningful fantasy stats outside of peripheral defensive numbers.
Dealing with lack of fitness
Bogarde didn't play for the Netherlands U21 squad during the November international break for being "unfit," so his status for Sunday's game against Leeds United is uncertain, John Townley and Mat Kendrick of Birmingham Live report.
Analysis: The nature and severity of Bogarde's potential injury are unknown, so it's unclear whether he'll play this weekend. The Dutchman has been a depth piece on defense most of the season, though, so his availability shouldn't impact many fantasy lineups.
Seeing more playing time
Bogarde has started in three of Aston Villa's seven EPL matches so far this season.
Analysis: Bogarde made eight appearances (three starts) in the Premier League in the 2024/25 season but looks poised to surpass those numbers easily this time around. He's alternating in midfield, and although his playing time should fluctuate as the season progresses, his fantasy upside likely won't change. As a defensive midfielder who rarely pushes forward, Bogarde shouldn't carry a ton of upside in most formats.
