Surgery successful
Milambo (knee) has received successful knee surgery, according to his club. "I've just seen Antoni around an hour ago, he's on crutches but looks good. The operation went well, so we'll look after Antoni and make sure he gets up to speed, and really integrate him into the football club, which we're big on."
Analysis: Milambo has received his surgery and it has gone successfully, with the midfielder now on crutches before his recovery starts. The good news is he has no setbacks right after surgery and should begin his recovery as soon as the club deems he is fit enough. He is set for a long recovery period, likely not returning until the start of next season, in a battle to be fit for the start of the next campaign.
Suffers ACL injury
Milambo suffered an ACL injury while on international duty with the Netherlands U21 and is set to undergo surgery before beginning a long recovery period, the club announced.
Analysis: Milambo signed for Brentford from Feyenoord over the summer and made three appearances for the Bees this season across all competitions. The midfielder will, however, need to wait to play more minutes for Brentford after suffering a season-ending injury that will require many months to recover. That said, his role has been limited to rotation this campaign, therefore his absence won't affect the starting XI.
Stretchered off
Milambo was stretchered off while playing for the Netherlands U20 team.
Analysis: Milambo had to be stretchered off during Friday's clash. It appeared to be a serious injury that could put Milambo on the sideline for a significant period of time. He's fallen out of favor quickly since joining Brentford and hasn't played much, so he isn't likely to impact the starting XI much with his absence. Milambo has made just a single appearance since joining from Feyenoord.
Non-factor so far
Milambo hasn't played since Week 1 for Brentford.
Analysis: Milambo, a summer signing from Feyenoord, got the start in the season opener against Nottingham Forest and logged 45 minutes, but he hasn't played for the Bees since then. He's been an unused sub three times and has also been off the squad in three other contests, including the 1-0 loss to Manchester City on Oct. 5 just before the international break.
