Nets on Saturday
Jimenez scored one goal to go with two shots (two on goal) in Saturday's 3-2 win against Liverpool.
Analysis: Jimenez doubled the advantage in the 33rd minute after being slipped in behind by James Hill. This was Jimenez's first goal in the Premier league. He has featured in 19 games and has accumulated 10 tackles, seven interceptions and four clearances across the last four games.
Well-rounded appearance
Jimenez had one shot (zero on goal) and seven crosses (one accurate) in Tuesday's 1-0 defeat versus Everton.
Analysis: Jimenez picked up his first start in three appearances and managed to register a shot for the second time in that span. He also delivered a whopping seven crosses, marking a new season high, but he has yet to record more than one accurate cross in a match. Additionally he recorded multiple tackles and tackles won for the first time in three outings.
Available against Aston Villa
Jimenez (calf) is available for Sunday's clash against Aston Villa after overcoming the knock he suffered against Manchester City, coach Andoni Iraola said in the press conference, according to Alexander Smith from the Bournemouth Daily Echo.
Analysis: Jimenez was forced off around the hour-mark during the clash against Manchester City due to a knock to his calf that revealed to be minor since he is already back available for Sunday's clash against Aston Villa. Jimenez has started five of his last six appearances for the Cherries and should return directly to the starting XI on Sunday.
Picks up knock Sunday
Jimenez left Sunday's game against Manchester City due to an apparent issue.
Analysis: Jimenez lasted 62 minutes on the pitch before succumbing to the blow during a tough matchup. The right-back is now at risk of missing future contests, which would force Bournemouth to modify their current back line. Lewis Cook acted as Jimenez's substitute Sunday, but Adam Smith could also feature as a natural replacement.
Joins Bournemouth on loan
Jimenez has joined Bournemouth on loan from AC Milan for the 2025/26 season, his new club announced. "Alex is a highly regarded young player who has already shown great promise at AC Milan. We are delighted to bring a player with such talent into the club and we believe he will be a strong addition to our squad. We're looking forward to working with him once he returns from international duty with Spain," AFC Bournemouth's President of Football Operations, Tiago Pinto said.
Analysis: Jimenez is regarded as one of the brightest young prospects in European football and is joining the Cherries after making 34 appearances across all competitions with AC Milan. Jimeenez joined the Serie A giants in 2023, coming from Real Madrid's Castilla where he was formed between 2012 and 2022. The full back will now discord the Premier League with the Cherries and bring a young option to the backline for coach Andoni Iraola.
