Ruptured ACL confirmed
Tzimas (knee) is out for the season after suffering a torn ACL, The Athletic announced.
Analysis: Tzimas suffered a knee injury against Aston Villa and has now been confirmed to have suffered an ACL injury. The forward will miss the remainder of the season after a promising start to his time with Brighton. He wasn't a consistent starting option, but he will leave Brighton down some depth, and he will miss key development time.
Out for months
Tzimas (knee) suffered an important injury in Wednesday's clash against Aston Villa and is set to miss months, coach Fabian Hurzeler said in the press conference. "I don't have great news today. We have to further assess Stefanos, but at the moment it looks like a long-term injury. We have to further assess him so I can't give you a clear schedule and a clear injury [diagnosis]. He had a scan, but there's still some things we have to clarify. He will be out for months rather than weeks."
Analysis: Tzimas suffered a severe knee injury in Wednesday's loss against Aston Villa and will be sidelined for months to recover from the issue. It remains unsure for the time being if that injury is linked to an ACL injury or not since he still has to undergo further assessments, but given the coach's words, it could be feared.
Set for scans
Tzimas (knee) is set for scans in the coming days after suffering an injury in Wednesday's 3-4 loss to Aston Villa, according to manager Fabian Hurzeler, per Sam Morton of Sussex World. "Of course, bad injuries always affect the team, but in the end, I think we reacted quite well. We have to accept it. I don't know what the exact injury or issue is. We will have to wait for the scan tomorrow."
Analysis: Tzimas would get stuck in on a tackle and suffer an injury Wednesday, leading the forward to receive scans in the coming days. That said, he will likely at least miss Sunday's match against West Ham, possibly missing a decent spell of time depending on the results of his scans. The club will hold its breath waiting on the results, as this comes in the same match he earned his first start and just one game after earning his first Premier League goal.
Injured in first start
Tzimas was injured during his first Brighton start, coming off with an apparent knee injury.
Analysis: Tzimas finally earned his first Premier League start and made it just 24 minutes before a knee injury forced him off. It's an awful turn for the promising youngster, with obvious fears about a serious injury. Tzimas will be a major doubt for Sunday's clash with West Ham.
Scores first Premier League goal
Tzimas scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Sunday's 2-0 victory versus Nottingham Forest.
Analysis: Tzimas came off the bench in the second half in Sunday's clash against Forest and put the game to bed with Brighton's second goal in the 88th minute. He reacted quickest when Morato's attempted backheel in his own box went wrong and Matz Sels was left on the turf, calmly prodding into an empty net. The strike was his first Premier League goal and capped a mature outing off the bench for the Greek forward.
First Premier League assist
Tzimas assisted once to go with one shot (zero on goal) and two chances created in Sunday's 1-1 draw versus Wolverhampton.
Analysis: Tzimas supplied the cross to setup Brighton's late equalizer Sunday in their 1-1 draw versus Wolverhampton. The talented teenager created two chances across his abbreviated 20-minute shift. In his first full season with Brighton, Tzimas is being brought along pragmatically and has logged just 48 Premier League minutes across three substitute appearances.
Incredible on debut
Tzimas came off the bench and scored twice as well as providing an assist during Wednesday's 6-0 win over Oxford United.
Analysis: Tzimas made his debut Wednesday and was an immediate difference-maker. He scored a quick brace and added an assist for another goal contribution. It was an excellent performance all-around from the promising young striker. Tzimas is likely to be a limited option in the Premier League throughout this season, but is considered an important part of the squad for the future.
