Subbed in on Saturday
Kostoulas generated one tackle (zero won) and one interception in Saturday's 1-1 draw versus Everton.
Analysis: Kostoulas replaced Danny Welbeck in the 70th minute and played a critical part in Pascal Gross' opener in the 73rd minute as he cleverly dummied Yasin Ayari's pass. Kostoulas has recorded 14 appearances, starting only once and has now contributed to two goals in the last four games.
Scores late equaliser in 1-1 draw
Kostoulas scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Monday's 1-1 draw versus AFC Bournemouth.
Analysis: Kostoulas scored Brighton's only goal of the game as he acrobatically put a bicycle kick into the top corner in the dying minutes to save a draw for Brighton. This was his second goal of the season, and he provided an assist in his only start of the season against Burnley. The forward has managed 11 shots, four of which have been on target in his last 159 minutes of play.
Available after minor issue
Kostoulas (undisclosed) missed the game against Manchester City due to a minor issue but is back available moving forward, coach Fabian Hurzeler said in a press conference, according to Andrew James from We Are Brighton.
Analysis: Kostoulas has cleared the minor issue that made him miss Wednesday's game against Manchester City and is an option again moving forward for the Seagulls. The forward's next chance to play in the Premier League will come against Bournemouth on Jan. 19 if he can't make the squad for the Carabao Cup game against Manchester United on Sunday. That said, he should remain a bench option at best moving forward for the Albion.
Suffers injury
Kostoulas missed Wednesday's visit to Manchester City as he deals with a slight issue, Sam Morton of Sussex World reports.
Analysis: Kostoulas had just made his first start of the season on Jan. 3 but apparently picked up a physical problem. The striker, who has scored one goal and an assist in 11 appearances across all competitions, will continue to work on his recovery in upcoming days. Whenever he's available, he could be a substitute option behind Georginio Rutter and Danny Welbeck.
Assists opener in 2-0 win
Kostoulas assisted once to go with two shots (one on goal) and one chance created in Saturday's 2-0 win versus Burnley.
Analysis: Kostoulas provided his first assist of the season in his first start of the year. The attacker also had a goal disallowed for a narrow offside early in the first half. The youngster also won both of his tackles and helped his side defend from the front. He also drew two fouls for the first time in the game.
Four shots off bench
Kostoulas registered four shots (one on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one corner in Sunday's 1-1 draw against West Ham United.
Analysis: Kostoulas was highly productive in Sunday's draw, an impressive feat considering he only played 18 minutes off the bench. He took four shots and created one chance on the attack, bringing him up to six shots (two on target) and three chances created over his last two appearances, and he's logged just 31 minutes over that stretch.
Scores goal off bench
Kostoulas scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) in Saturday's 4-2 loss to Manchester United.
Analysis: Kostoulas scored a stoppage-time header to make it 3-2, adding to Brighton's late charge. He provided an aerial threat during his 11-minute shift, winning three aerial duels and getting behind the defense in transition. His goal gave Brighton hope after slipping behind early. Despite the narrow defeat, his contribution will be a confidence boost as he is expected to hold a bench role moving forward with the Seagulls.
