Plays with U21s, fit for Monday
Nunes (hamstring) played with the U21s on Wednesday and is an option for Monday's match against West Ham, according to manager Keith Andrews.
Analysis: Nunes is back in the fold for the club this week, as the attacker was able to take the field for a U21 match during the break and has been cleared for action moving forward. This is excellent news for the attacker who has yet to debut this season, in search of his first minutes in possibly his first appearance on the team sheet this campaign. He only appeared three times all of last season due to injury, so he will hope to remain fit after only a minimal 11 minutes last campaign.
Missing from team sheet
Nunes (hamstring) is out for Sunday's match against Manchester City.
Analysis: Nunes was a late call but appears to have failed his testing, as the attacker is not an option and is missing from the team sheet completely. He will now use the international break to try to return, still having yet to debut this season.
Late call for Saturday
Nunes (hamstring) is a late call for Saturday's match against Manchester City, according to his club.
Analysis: Nunes served with the B team recently, and that has led to a return to team training, now potentially featuring Saturday. However, he will likely need to pass some testing and is a late call, still needing to prove he can take the field. He has yet to feature since a friendly in July, so the club will hope he is available for his debut, but they may keep him out until after the break to be cautious.
Set for B team
Nunes (hamstring) will feature with Brentford's B team, Brentford announced.
Analysis: Nunes is working his way back and responded well to his first introduction back into team training. He's now expected to start building his match load in the B team. Nunes could be back with the senior team after the international break, potentially as soon as an Oct. 20 trip to West Ham.
Will be in modified training
Nunes (hamstring) will be in modified training for the next two weeks while he builds his fitness, the club announced.
Analysis: Nunes is still dealing with his hamstring injury and building his fitness. The attacking midfielder is set to follow a modified training program for the next two weeks before likely getting back in team training. His timeline for return remains uncertain but will not happen before those two weeks. That said, his absence doesn't impact the Bees' starting XI since he will likely hold a bench role once fully fit.
Will return next week
Nunes (hamstring) is expected to resume team training next week, the club announced.
Analysis: Nunes was spotted training on grass this week and is expected to return to team training next week after recovering from a hamstring injury. That said, his potential return won't affect the starting XI as he only had a bench role at the end of last season for the Bees.
Viewed on grass
Nunes (hamstring) was viewed training on grass again, accoridng to his club.
Analysis: Nunes was viewed running a few weeks ago and is continuing to boost his fitness, as he was once again viewed running on grass to begin September. That said, the attacker is still needing to get into training with his teammates before a return, leaving his availability after the international break up in the air, but likely leaning towards another game out.
