Makes bench Friday
Alysson (undisclosed) is on the bench for Friday's game against Aston Villa.
Analysis: The winger recovered from a knock sustained in training and will be available off the bench for Villa. Alysson joined the club from Gremio in the January transfer window but has yet to make a big impact overall.
Set for return
Alysson (undisclosed) is an option for Friday's match against Wolves, according to manager Unai Emery. "Alysson is coming back, I think normally he will come back in the squad for tomorrow."
Analysis: Alysson has been out of the past two games and has only played one match since joining the club, set to change that with his expected availability Friday. However, the Brazilian will likely only earn a bench spot, appearing for only 16 minutes in his club debut. That said, the winger is more of an option for the future, likely to work into time but hold no major role yet.
Not playing vs. Leeds United
Alysson (undisclosed) is out for Saturday's game against Leeds United, manager Unai Emery told media during Friday's pre-match press conference. "The players who were injured are still being injured - John McGinn, Boubacar Kamara, Youri Tielemans and Alysson."
Analysis: The Brazilian winger picked up a knock that caused him to miss the FA Cup tie against Newcastle, and while the injury is not believed to be serious, it'll rule him out of this contest as well. Alysson's next chance to play will come against Wolverhampton on Friday, Feb. 27.
Misses out with knock
Alysson was out for Saturday's 3-1 loss to Newcastle due to a knock, according to Jacob Tanswell of the Athletic.
Analysis: Alyssonn was left out of Saturday's match as a precaution after a knock was suffered in training, still building up fitness after his move to the club. Luckily, he is not dealing with anything major, only dealing with a small issue. With their next match against Leeds United on Feb. 21, he will have a full week to recover and likely be an option in the next contest.
Makes Aston Villa debut
Alysson (knee) registered one inaccurate cross in Wednesday's 1-0 victory against Brighton.
Analysis: The 19-year-old winger finally made his debut with the Midlands club after joining from Brazilian club Gremio. He's a long-term prospect and isn't likely to challenge for a starting spot any time soon, however, so his immediate fantasy prospects are limited for the time being.
Continues to progress
Alysson (knee) is still out moving forward, according to manager Unai Emery.
Analysis: Alysson is still working on his return this week as a knee injury has halted his start with Villa, yet to play since inking a deal with the club. However, he is progressing, good news despite no clear return in place. Once he is fit, he role remains unknown, although many expect him to be more of a depth option in his first season.
Nursing knee injury
Alysson is nursing a knee injury and will likely have to wait a while before making his Aston Villa debut, according to Kurtis Leyland from Birmingham World.
Analysis: Alysson completed a move to Aston Villa from Gremio and arrived with a minor knee injury that he was expected to clear quickly, but reports say he suffered a setback in training and could now miss some time. The young winger will likely have to wait before making his debut with the Villains, also because he will need to build his competitive fitness to be able to perform in the best league in the World. That said, Alysson could see decent playing time off the bench in the second half of the season to show his talent, since Donyell Malen left the club and Evann Guessand is nearing an exit as well, leaving a viable spot to claim for the young Brazilian.
Not an option Sunday
Alysson is out for Sunday's match against Everton, according to manager David Moyes. "Alysson is still being a little bit in pain and is not ready for Sunday."
Analysis: Alysson just completed his move to Villa and is already not an option for the club, missing due to undisclosed reasons. This comes after he last played Dec. 7 with Gremio, coming after only 40 minutes, potentially still dealing with some injuries he picked up with his previous club. Even though he isn't expected to see much first-team time, he will hope for a return soon to avoid losing any time he could have earned.
Completes Aston Villa move
Alysson has completed a permanent transfer from Gremio to Aston Villa on Thursday.
Analysis: The winger was a regular for Gremio in the 2025 Brasileirao campaign, despite being 19 years old, and registered 34 appearances across all competitions for the Porto Alegre side. Alysson will add another option in the final third for Aston Villa, but he's not expected to become a regular right away.
