Returns to training
Eze (calf) was spotted in training Thursday, according to Sky Sports News.
Analysis: Eze has missed Arsenal's last two matches, the loss against Southampton in the FA Cup and the win over Sporting CP in the Champions League, but his return to training is certainly a step in the right direction. Saturday's game might come too soon for him since he has just integrated back into the sessions, but he might have a shot at playing off the bench against Sporting on Wednesday in the return leg of the UCL quarterfinals.
Still out, return unknown
Eze (calf) is out for Saturday's FA Cup match and still has no set return date, according to manager Mikel Arteta. "Ebz is out; with Ebz I cannot put a finger on it because I don't know, because he's a special character."
Analysis: Eze is not going to make his return to play Saturday and will continue on the sidelines as expected, still battling a calf injury. Unfortunately, it appears the club is no closer to knowing his return date at the moment, potentially still missing a few more games. This continues as a rough loss for the club as they lose a solid midfield option, especially with Martin Odegaard (knee) still working on his return.
Sidelined at least a month
Eze is set to miss at least a month of action due to his calf injury, according to James McNicholas and Colin Millar of The Athletic.
Analysis: Eze was already missing time with an injury and has now received a rough notice, as he will be out for at least a month with the injury. This is a major development as the club makes a push to close out the season on top of the table, now missing an influential part of their midfield until the end of April. With Martin Odegaard still recovering, they will hope he is an option on the other side of the break to pick up Eze's minutes. However, if neither is fit, Kai Havertz could be pushed in the role along with Christian Noraard, although the latter has been limited time this campaign. Eze will hope to be fit again when they face Manchester City on April 19, as that match has major implications.
Dealing with calf issue
Eze won't be available for England in the international break and will continue to be assessed, with manager Mikel Arteta revealing Sunday that "We have to do another scan in six or seven days and wait and see the results. Is it a leg injury. His calf.", the club reported.
Analysis: Eze missed the EFL Cup final due to the issue and could be sidelined for more games depending on his progress. The attacker had built momentum in a No. 10 spot prior to this blow, scoring four times over his last seven appearances across all competitions. With Martin Odegaard (knee) also working on his recovery, Kai Havertz is likely to benefit from Eze's potential absence.
Misses with injury
Eze is not an option for Sunday's match against Manchester City due to an injury, according to manager Mikel Arteta. "We tried everything [to get him fit for the game], but unfortunately, [Eze], Martin, Jurrien and Mikel are out."
Analysis: Eze is not with his team Sunday as they attempt for a Carabao Cup Trophy, with the midfielder suffering an injury he couldn't recover from. Luckily for the club and player, he will have the international break to recover, hopefully back when they resume play. He has been on a decent spell of form, with two assists in their past four outings.
Scores opening goal
Eze scored one goal to go with three shots (one on goal) and three chances created in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen. He was subbed off due to injury in the 69th minute.
Analysis: Eze has been hot and cold this season, albeit in limited playing time but has delivered some big moments already for the Gunners. Tuesday's goal qualifies as one of those and if the winger avoided a major injury, he could see action off the bench in Sunday's EFL Cup final against Manchester City.
Scores brace versus Spurs
Eze scored two goals to go with five shots (two on goal) and two chances created in Sunday's 4-1 victory versus Tottenham Hotspur.
Analysis: Eze apparently loves the North London Derby as he scored a pair of goals in the dominant win over arch-rival Tottenham. He has now scored six goals across 22 appearances this season, five of which have come in the two matches versus Spurs. He logged five shots and created two chances on the attack before he was subbed off in the 77th minute for Martin Odegaard to take away his chance for another hat trick. He'll look to perform well again in another heated London Derby Sunday versus Chelsea.
Logs assist in win
Eze assisted once to go with one shot (zero on goal) and one chance created in Wednesday's 3-1 win versus Bayern Munich.
Analysis: Eze's lone shot was off the mark but his assist was perfect for Gabriel Martinelli, who raced past Manuel Neuer's sweeper efforts to give Arsenal an insurance goal. Eze is coming off some stellar performances and will look to keep that going against a tough Chelsea defense which has allowed less than a goal per game so far this season.
Scores hat trick versus Spurs
Eze scored three goals to go with six shots (four on goal) and one chance created in Sunday's 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
Analysis: Eze, who nearly joined Tottenham in the summer, put together by far his best performance of his Arsenal career versus Spurs in the North London Derby. He scored three goals, one right before halftime, one right after and then his third in the 76th minute to seal the three points up for Arsenal. It's been a fairly quiet start to Eze's tenure with Arsenal, but this performance shows exactly why the Gunners were so keen on signing him.
Struggles in front of goal
Eze generated four shots (one on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Saturday's 2-2 draw against Sunderland.
Analysis: Only one of Eze's four shots was on target, and he failed to do much in terms of service. With Leandro Trossard playing well and Arsenal likely to have some players back from injuries after this two-week break, Eze is likely to be coming off the bench in the upcoming North London derby against Tottenham.
Scores against old club
Eze scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) in Sunday's 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.
Analysis: Eze was the difference in this match, making the move late in the transfer window from Palace to Arsenal. The winger can be productive in any role if he sees the field next Saturday against Burnley, a team which has allowed 17 goals already this season.
Puts up shots in win
Eze generated four shots (one on goal) in Saturday's 2-0 win against West Ham United.
Analysis: Eze hasn't found the back of the net yet for his new team but he's getting opportunities. If he gets another start against Fulham, he has a great chance to score as the side has conceded 11 times in seven EPL games.
Assist proves crucial
Eze assisted once to go with one shot (one on goal) and one chance created in Sunday's 1-1 draw against Manchester City.
Analysis: Eze only featured off the bench at halftime but was crucial to the Gunners' win Sunday, finding Gabriel Martinelli in extra time for a goal that tied the game and earned his club a point. This gives him two straight league games with an assist, also earning one against Nottingham Forest. That accounts for both goal contributions since joining the club, yet to score a goal.
Gets assist
Eze assisted once to go with two shots (zero on goal), two crosses (zero accurate) and one corner in Saturday's 3-0 victory against Nottingham Forest.
Analysis: Eze was in the starting lineup and while he didn't do much crossing the ball, he was able to get an assist on one of Arsenal's three goals. He will likely be in the starting lineup again Tuesday against Athletic after being subbed off Saturday.
Makes first Arsenal appearance
Eze appeared for 20 minutes off the bench in a 1-0 loss to Liverpool on Aug. 31.
Analysis: Eze made his Gunner debut just ahead of the international break, with the midfielder featuring for 20 minutes off the bench. However, his efforts were subdued, with the only significant stats he earned being just a few eight passes. He will now look to fight for starting time after getting his first steps with the club, possibly taking the role on the left flank in their next outing.
Held out of Conference League
Eze (transfer) wasn't included in the squad for Thursday's clash with Fredrikstad.
Analysis: Eze has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, and as such wasn't included in the squad Thursday. Justin Devenny moves into the squad in his place, though he's obviously a far less threatening option. Long-term Daichi Kamada (knee) is another option in attacking midfield, while Palace have also been linked to some transfers in to replace the talismanic Eze.
