Contributes in new role
Soucek had two crosses (zero accurate) and two tackles in Thursday's 1-1 draw against Manchester United.
Analysis: Soucek made his first start since late October with Lucas Paqueta suspended, playing out of position wide on the right. He contributed offensively with a season-high two crosses and defensively with three clearances , one interception and season high two blocks.

Analysis: Soucek's back post header gave West Ham a brief 2-1 advantage Saturday from which they would earn a 3-2 home victory over Burnley. Since returning from a three-match red card suspension, the veteran midfielder has scored twice over four appearances (two starts). In addition to his goal Saturday, Soucek made three clearances across his 28 minutes of play.
Scores late in Sunday's win
Soucek scored one goal to go with two shots (two on goal) in Sunday's 3-1 win over Newcastle United.
Analysis: Souk recorded his first goal of the season Sunday, an unassisted close-range strike in the 97th minute which sealed up the victory. It was one of two shots he put on target in his 29 minutes off the bench, his second appearance off the bench this season to go along with five starts.
Clears suspension
Soucek is no longer suspended and is an option moving forward for the club.
Analysis: Soucek has served his three-match suspension following his straight red card against Tottenham and is set to return in the next contest. The midfielder is expected to go straight back into the starting lineup against Brentford after the break, having started the three games prior to his ban.
Sent off against Spurs
Soucek was sent off in the second half of Saturday's game against Tottenham with a straight red card.
Analysis: Soucek was sent off shortly after Tottenham's goal for a high challenge on Joao Palhinha. He's expected to miss the upcoming three matches for the Hammers, meaning the earliest he might return will be to face Brentford on Oct. 20.
Assists against Wolves
Soucek provided one assist during Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Wolves in the Carabao Cup.
Analysis: Soucek, and all of West Ham, have been off to a brutal start to the season, and despite his assist Tuesday that didn't really change. His assist looked to be a change of momentum in the first half but two late goals cost West Ham their place in the Carabao Cup. Soucek started a 5-1 drubbing by Chelsea in the Premier League, and with the squad paper-thin he will likely be in for a major role in almost every match, especially with the midfield struggling to control the ball.
