Out for rest of season
Boly will not feature again this season after being left out of the club's Premier League and Europa League squads due to a knee injury, according to manager Sean Dyche, per Sarah Clapson of the Nottingham Post. "He's injured. We took him out of the squad because we have got to bring a freshness to it.He knows, he understands. It's his knee, he was struggling a bit with it but was getting on with it and seeing if he could take it further. It's just too much at the minute so he's recovering from that. But he's been great and is a top pro."
Analysis: Boly is not going to be with the club for the rest of the season, as they decided it was better to let the defender focus on the recovery from a knee injury rather than push him to play again this season. The major storyline here is that Boly has potentially played his last minutes for the club, as he runs out of contract at the end of the season. He only featured off the bench once all season for a minute of play, so this will be a minor loss for the club.
Back in Forest, not in plans
Boly is back from international duty at the AFCON and an option moving forward for Nottingham Forest, according to AOL.
Analysis: Boly is back in Nottingham following his international duty at the AFCON with Ivory Coast. That said, the defender appears to be out of the plans of coach Sean Dyche, as he hasn't made the squad since early December. Boly has a contract running until June 2026, which suggests he could be on the move in the coming weeks or months and is unlikely to see playing time with the club after logging him only one minute this season.
Heads back to Nottingham
Boly is heading back to Nottingham after completing his international duty with Ivory Coast at the AFCON and should be back available for Saturday's clash against Arsenal.
Analysis: Boly was eliminated with Ivory Coast from the AFCON and will now head back to Nottingham and should be back available for Saturday's clash against the Gunners. The defender has been a bench option only for Forest this season and is unlikely to see more minutes in the second half of the campaign.
Going to AFCON
Boly is heading to AFCON with Ivory Coast, and will be away from his club for at least three weeks.
Analysis: Boly has made only one appearance this season, and that was a single minute off the bench in the Europa League. Even when he's been fit, Boly has done little to compete in the first team and his absence won't change anything for the squad in the coming weeks.
