Torn ACL confirmed

Odobert suffered a torn ACL and will see a specialist next week before undergoing surgery, confirmed the team.

Analysis: It's a brutal development for Odobert, who was finally getting some run with Tottenham after rarely playing the prior season, partly due to injury. He'd started seven of the last eight league and UCL games, building a role given the lack of other options. This unfortunately keeps him out until after next season starts, meaning he won't get a preseason. Nine months from February is November, so that will be the goal, but prior to surgery, it's hard to give a better timeline.

Suffers torn ACL

Odobert has suffered an ACL tear and is out for the remainder of the season into the 2026/27 campaign, according to Jack Pitt-Brooke and Jay Harris of The Athletic.

Analysis: Odobert went down with a scary injury Tuesday, and his scans have revealed the worst, with the attacker now out due to a torn ACL. This only adds to the club's injury concerns moving forward, as they will have to do without another attacker or midfielder, already missing more than 10 players due to injury. He will now focus on the next season as he prepares for a recovery period of around nine months, with a return expected after the first few months of the 2026/27 season. The club will have to find a new option on the right after Odobert assumed a couple of starts in a row recently, with Randal Kolo Muani and Mathys Tel likely to assume more time until Mohammed Kudus (quadriceps) is fit again.

Forced off Tuesday

Odobert left Tuesday's clash with Newcastle with an apparent knee injury. After the match, manager Thomas Frank told reporters "I hope it's nothing too serious, but I don't know what it can be. Of course I hope it's not a serious injury to a 20-year-old young player.", per Alasdair Gold of Football London.

Analysis: Odobert started on the right flank but had to be treated for a physical issue and replaced by Mathys Tel during the first half of the midweek game. This issue adds yet another blow to the Spurs' injury-plagued squad, with Odobert now at serious risk of missing the next fixture against Arsenal.

Assists equalizer Saturday

Odobert assisted once to go with four shots (three on goal), three crosses (two accurate) and three chances created in Saturday's 2-2 draw versus Burnley.

Analysis: Odobert set up the equalizing goal Saturday as his cross in the 90th minute set up Cristian Romero's header. After assisting both of Spurs' goals in Tuesday's UCL win, this has easily been the best run of Odobert's season. He also put a season-high three shots on target as he threatened his former club's defense throughout the match.

Assists twice in Tuesday's victory

Odobert assisted twice to go with one shot (one on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and four chances created in Tuesday's 2-0 victory against Borussia Dortmund.

Analysis: Odobert assisted both of his side's goals Tuesday as he set up Cristian Romero's strike in the 14th minute and then Dominic Solanke's goal in the 37th minute. They marked his first two assists in the Champions League this season to go along with his one goal. He also created a season-high four chances and put one shot on target in his full 90 minutes of action, his best performance of the season so far.

Three shots in loss

Odobert generated three shots (one on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and two chances created in Saturday's 2-1 loss against West Ham United.

Analysis: Odobert tied a season high with three shots in Saturday's loss, his first Premier League match with three shots since Oct. 19. He also created multiple chances for the third time this season. He's still only recorded one goal contribution in the Premier League this season as he's really struggled to find his way since joining Spurs in 2024.

Assists Saturday

Odobert assisted once to go with one shot (zero on goal), four crosses (two accurate) and three chances created in Saturday's 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

Analysis: After scoring his first goal of the season Tuesday in the Champions League, Odobert subbed onto the pitch at halftime Saturday and made an impact. He recorded his first assist of the season as his cross was guided into the back of the net by Richarlison in the 91st minute, a goal that briefly appeared to be the match-winner. It was one of three chances he created in the match and he also recorded a season-high two accurate crosses in his 45 minutes of action.

Fit for bench

Odobert (undisclosed) is on the bench for Sunday's match against Everton.

Analysis: Odobert is back after an injury scare midweek, as the attacker is an option from the bench. He had started in their past four games and will look to test his legs before potentially returning to a starting role next contest, with Brennan Johnson rejoining the starting XI due to Odobert's inclusion from the bench.

Appears to be option

Odobert (undisclosed) appears to be an option for Sunday's match against Everton, according to his club.

Analysis: Odobert was forced off with pain last match but appears to be fine heading into the weekend, recovered for Sunday's outing. This is huge news for the club, as the attacker has started in their past four outings on the left side of the attack. That said, he will hope to see the start again immediately, with Mathys Tel as a possible replacement.

Forced off with pain

Odobert (undisclosed) was forced off in the 69th minute of Wednesday's 0-0 draw against Monaco due to suffering from pain, coach Thomas Frank said in a press conference. "Actually, I don't know, but of course we subbed him off because there was some pain, but I don't know the consequences of it."

Analysis: Odobert suffered an issue during Wednesday's clash against Monaco and was in too much pain to continue. The forward was replaced in the 69th minute and will likely be assessed in the coming days to determine the extent of the problem. Odobert has started five of his last six appearances, increasing his impact in the Spurs attack and will hope the issue is not serious to maintain his momentum. Brennan Johnson could take on a larger role if he is sidelined.

Sep 21, 2025

Ineffective in first start

Odobert generated one shot (zero on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Saturday's 2-2 draw versus Brighton.

Analysis: Odobert made his first start of the season Saturday and did not do much with his opportunity. He only took one shot and it was off target, and he only added one inaccurate cross to his offensive production. He was subbed off in the 72nd minute for Brennan Johnson.
